In fact I think that's the dumbest measure of strength for linemen, it's just something that goes way back in terms of being a strength measurement. Squats would be much more appropriate, but of course when it comes to knowing for sure film is the best way.
On Noteboom's film he gets knocked back repeatedly. This year he has improved a bit, but in week 2 after rewatching he seemed to be back to the same old Boom prior to his injury. In week one he got shocked by Vander Esch (just a quick punch with both arms) and knocked back. The guy just doesn't have the physicality you want in a balanced offense. He moves well, sure. But watch the film is all I can say cheers.
