There’s 2 legit schools of thought on this.
One school is to play Boom at LG next to Whit to become better adjusted to NFL speed and techniques. Theoretically, he would more quickly become prepared for starting at LOT in ‘21, or as needed. This appears to have been the Ram coaches’ strategy.
The other school of thought is that Edwards is slightly better at LG already and might well be our starter there for the next 10 years. So why not start him now and accelerate HIS development accordingly?
I watched Boom carefully up until his injury and I thought he looked just fine. Only had one poor block that I noticed and it was on a sweep to his right, at that.
I’ll be honest and admit that I’m conflicted on this one. I can see long term Ram benefits either way. I don’t have a horse in this race, so I’m just gonna trust Kromer on this one.
