So many injuries and dings league wide. Clearly the lack of training camp time, the lack of scrimmage and preseason tackling and hitting that gets these guys in game shape, is playing a role. So I'm not sure that, for example, Noteboom's calf muscle pull or even Cam's rib injury, don't have a direct relationship to the truncated pre season training regime and therefore aren't really indicative of a player's durability.
I wonder about the Players Union insisting about there being too much training camp (Pre Covid), and too many preseason games, and the greatly controlled and limited contact in camp under the CBA, that the data from this abbreviated pre-season proves what many of us think as common sense: the players need it (maybe not all of it, but most of it) to be physically ready for the rigors of the regular season.
