My answer is simple. You don't need to develop a left OG. Him just stepping in at LOG next year (presumably) when it's his position (presumably) is just fine.
LOTs on the other hand you do need to develop because it's a much more important position. So "developing Edwards at LOG" has far less long term value in it than developing the future LOT does.

When Whitt retires, this kid is going to have to step in and replace that. The less he's having to "deprogram" himself, the better. While I'm really big on Oline continuity, I would like to see him flex in at LT and prepare for that spot.
