Its using a hypothetical to make a point much like your "executing the losing qbs ..." the number of posts today alone, on the state of the uniform and design of the helmet, point out the significance of the cloth, colors, design, and the plastic. I strongly believe that if the Rams went to an all black uniform and helmet with no horns a huge number of fans-much like Max-would root for some other team. Why? As Bob Dylan would sing: "the answer my friend is blowing in the wind".

If the Rams went all black or drastically changed their appearance, I would definitely reconsider following them.
For me, it started with their look and their proximity. Those are the two main components of my fandom. Not the ONLY things, as some might try and misdirect to, but they are at the core.
