If the Rams had changed to the Stallions and changed their colors to purple and red, I find it very difficult to believe Rams fans would still be fans of the team.
There are plenty of examples of teams changing their identity and I'd bet that tradition didn't keep most of those fans as fans.
First, you are responding to a post that does not exist. I didn't argue what you are arguing against. That is literally, I didn't say any of the things you think you are calling bs on.
But nevermind. Let's go with your new topic. If they changed cities, names, and colors, like the Ravens, then, yeah, most old fans would not follow them. (Another thing the Rams won't do but the Browns/Ravens did.) The question though was just about colors. Moving the goal posts? If a team completely changed their identity yeah they would lose old fans. But that's not what was asked.
The question was simply about the imagery--symbols, uniform, colors.
Are you sure most fans would drop the team if that's all that changed? I don't think so. In fact history demonstrates the opposite. Maybe some teams that did that (and most have done that) did lose some fans, but watch throwback games. Notice how many teams completely changed their uniforms over the years but retained their identity--and their fanbase.
Just a few examples. Some of the changes were drastic, some not so drastic, but a team changing uniforms and/or colors but not their identity has regularly happened in the NFL
