I was in L.A. for the Saints game. Going to and from the stadium, especially on the Expo Train, I chatted with DOZENS of Saints fans. Not ONE of them was from the Southern California area. NOT ONE! I talked to one who was from Arizona but every other one I talked to was from New Orleans or the Louisiana area. I walked all over the press box side of the Coliseum before the game and saw a crap load of Saints fans in PRIME sideline seats. The B.S, excuse about the Rams being new to L.A. is LAME. The KC game last season and going back to 1980 for the MNF game in Anaheim vs Dallas is proof that L.A. fans can show up for a game.
While in L.A., I also chatted with several fans from L.A. and heard the tired excuse of there being other things to do in L.A. WHY is that not a problem in Chicago or New York (Even with struggling Giants and Jets teams???)
I guess I am a bit bitter after I heard Nation wide media AND THE NFL ITSELF, raise almighty hell when the Jags put tarps on the edge of the upper decks to lower stadium capacity from 75K to "only" 65K. A few seasons later, not a PEEP about Miami REMOVING the corners of their upper decks. All the while Jax is 1/4 the size of Miami and even more less to Los Angeles. But will still put about 50 K of JAGS fans EVERY game. OH....And Jacksonville is a HUGE US Navy town with people from all over the Country. Remember.... A city of barely 1 million. What is L.A. 5..6...7 million?
