In many ways I think professional football is dying a slow but certain death-for the very reason you pointed out. Kids. It is so expensive now that it no longer is a family sport in the sense that you can take your family and enjoy the entire atmosphere-like baseball. As you wrote the new Stadium in Inglewood will be so expensive I doubt you will see many families there. I do recall in the 50s at the Coliseum for Ram games actually seeing entire families watching the Rams play the Bears, etc. Because my dad was killed in WW 2 my mom had season tickets and took me to all the games at the Coliseum. Moreover, Soccer seems to have taken over many parts of children's sports participation. My grandson and grand daughter know the names and coaches in most of the soccer leagues because they play and watch it on tv. When we are in Sacramento visiting them and the Rams are playing it is really difficult to get them away from watching Soccer. Often I have to go to a sports bar. . Soccer is still and will always be IMO the most popular sport in the world. Finally, what you said about the NFL is absolutely true. Ownership is only concerned about the money they can make and they see L.A. and So Cal in general has a great cash machine because of all the NFL fans that live here. But again those "fans" are not the "kids" they will need to keep the sport moving ahead with the general population.
