And maybe it's as simple as winning. Maybe those Rams fans that are selling their seats will go to the games instead? Maybe those who are selling those seats aren't Rams fans at all but speculators who have bought up groups of tickets and are selling them for top dollar? The Rams want to sell tickets, Ticket Master & Stub Hub want to sell tickets....My problem is as a loyal fan my game time experience can be jeopardized by how those tickets are sold. I think it's in the Rams best interest to do all that they can to monitor to whom and how tickets sold to prevent profiteering and to preserve a safe, quality game day experience for their fans.
My experience includes being a current season ticket owner who has been a loyal Rams fan (some would say to excess) for many years, going back to listening to the Rams on the radio Sundays while my dad puttered in garage. I was maybe 7 or 8 years old. In later life I was privileged to go to most Rams home games through the George Allen & Chuck Knox eras.
In all of those years and events I have never witnessed or had such an awful experience as I/we did in last Sundays game at the Coliseum against the 49ers.
My day started with a 3 1/2 hour drive the Los Angeles from Arroyo Grande. What was unusual was the enormous amount of traffic we experienced as early as 10 am when we arrived. We stay at the USC Hotel so we checked in, parked the car and walked over to the stadium. The writing was on the wall! Red jerseys everywhere! We didn't go to the Fan Zone as usual because we were participating in the
Rams Crucial CatchCeremony down on the field in the east end zone.
After the ceremony we trekked & squeezed though a sea of 49er fans still arriving, filling the concourse area which encircles the Coliseum going all the way back to our seats at the west end. By the time we got to our seats the Rams only score of the day was already up on the board.
My Seat location.
We were literally surrounded in a sea of red. I have never seen anything like it. What added insult to injury was the fact that they were not your well behaved fan types. Obnoxiousness was the order of the day! It was like being at a game at Candlestick the last few times my daughter and I went there. Their fan base is really the worst I've come across yet. Maybe it's a sign of the times?
It's unfortunate when I think that I spent a lot of time and money for the LA RAMS experience and what I got was anything but that! We actually left the game before the end. Something I've never done before.
As a Fan, a season ticket holder at the new stadium I'm challenging the Rams to do something about this problem if they can! There's just no reason in my mind to ever have to endure what we endured last Sunday! It just ain't fun or worth it.
