i don't mean this with any disrespect at all but i had felt bad for the saints and their fans for a long time.
it goes back to when the rams and the saints were in the same division. the saints were perennial bottom dwellers and archie manning was scrambling for his life. what a great qb. what he would have done with some quality weapons...
then ditka trades their entire draft for ricky williams who bugs out after 3 years.
then katrina.
the saints and their fans had been through a lot of adversity and i admired their perseverance.
then came superbowl XLIV. i was convinced the payton and the colts would win before the game started but the saints pulled it out. i was happy for the saints and saints nation. i no longer felt sorry for them.
having lived through superbowl XXXVI and the clear cheating and ref error, i'd hate for my rams to be some other teams patriots but based on what happened in january i get why saints nation would see the rams as their ram's patriots.
and having lived through superbowl XXXVI i would never want the refs to decide any game. i just hope for a fair game from the reps when we meet on sunday.
btw saints_alive, i thought i would never get over the travesty that was superbowl XXXVI and stop hating the patriots. but i did. oddly enough, it came from the superbowl loss in february...
