The loss of Kupp was profound for Jared Goff. Since he went down there is only one game where Goff looked good and that's the KC matchup where I don't think the defensive gameplan fully accounted for the difference of Kupp being out. Every game thereafter our young QB just hasn't been the guy he was early this season.
So with the stretch of tough defenses we faced I don't think McVay had a choice, he had to alter the fundamental nature of his offense to take some of the load off Jared for this playoff environment.
That said, I do think we lucked out with Anderson, where he was such a perfect fit for our offense it had far more positive impact than expected initially. To the point where the Rams might, ironically, be better suited to win it all.
