I agree with Speed's and 43's observations. After the two consecutive losses there were a number of people analyzing why we got stopped. Over and over I heard that the opposing defenses took away the long pass and harried Goff. Looks like McVay adjusted, and in my opinion he succeeded magnificently! We gutted the Cowboy's vaunted D! They were supposed to be the badass team; they had just stoned Seattle's juggernaut running game. And look what happened to them. Hear the lamentations of the Cowboy's women, (and men), as they watched their defense shredded and humiliated.
Take what the D gives you and change failing strategies. Most great commanders are able to do that.
Up until this point, I would never have classified McVay as a great coach because its only been two years and there were legitimate doubts about his ability to change strategies. The Cowboy's game proved he could make tactical changes. I feel better about him now than I did when we were 11-0 or so. Win or lose, I feel more confident in him.
