I think there are some really good reasons for signing Hav's to the extension.
1. Keep the line together for another year except for perhaps Safford if he doesn't resign.
2. We only have 1 more year left for Whit and Sully and need a guy that can provide some stability.
3. He is a really good RT.
On the con side I do think we paid a higher than normal price to keep him although his contract is in line with a good Guard
On balance I don't think it was an okay deal and I think we need a vet when Whit and Sully are gone. Who knows maybe Noteboom has to play LG next year. I do see the logic about not having to replace the entire line over a 2 year period and maintaining some certainty with the unit. If we had a LT and another Guard lock down long term it might make sense to bargain hunt but that is not our situation.
