Couple of things here, zn.
First of all, we are in complete agreement that RT is among, if not the least difficult positions on OL to find and replace. I never said otherwise.
But that wasn’t my point. My point was that Hav is a top RT by any measure, young, healthy, and very affordable for at least the 2-3 years before Goff’s extension.
As such, it makes a TON of sense to me to have given him his extension. Heck, it seems brilliant, based upon the year he had. BTW, I don’t understand his pass blocking ranking that you refer to. Not denying that the ranking exists, just saying that I question it. Not unlike my questioning PFF’s #16 ranking for Gurley as a RB? When I watch Hav, he looks just fine and he very rarely gets a flag.
As to Saffold? Here again we are in agreement. He would be a solid extension, IMO.
I know what you said 43. I know what your point was. I only responded to make it clear that I don't share a single one of your thoughts on this and disagree with every single point. So for example, I wasn't INFORMING you that ROTs are easily replaced (which is how you took it). I was saying WHY I DON'T LIKE THE EXTENSION--namely, it;s completely unnecessary. And so on down the line. We see this differently on every single aspect of it. We agree on a lot of things but not this one.
That makes this an "agree to disagree" impasse which I happily move on from! So let's go agree on something instead of laboring this issue past its expiration date.
