that some of you do
It was time for him to go and he got fired and deserved to be fired... its over and done with. He along with Snead left the Rams with one of the best young QBs in football, probably the best RB, the best interior dlineman and a few other very good players.
He didn't know what he was doing with the offense and after 5 years it finally caught up to him
Its over he's old news... The Rams meanwhile are thriving. They are considered the best team in football. Great defense, great offense and special teams
I could see if Fisher set the team back on 4 or 5 years... he can talk away in that booth for all I care
My Rams are rolling!!!!
I feel more like you do.
But for me context matters, which leads me to add this. Fisher would have done better if he had both a starting caliber qb and a relatively healthy OL the majority of the time.
Fisher would have done better with those things.
McVay like every other coach would not do as well with those issues (meaning, as often as not, both issues at once).
Fisher did bequeath this team a lot of talent though. Granted he as always going back years could not find a WR.
In terms of offense, his passing game coordinator in 2016 is now the Eagles offensive coordinator. So it's not all as black and white as many people like to have it.
But...no one protested his firing (including me, it was time) and the new hire is a good one. Maybe. (Yuck yuck
...I think he's the best Rams HC in my era outside of DV and he may pass DV when it comes to that.)
People can hate Fisher if they want, but part of me is an historian by nature and --->
in my eyes<--- (stressing the "IMO" flavor of this), raw coach hate usually doesn't lead to very nuanced history.
Not trying to convince anybody. Just putting in a different vote so the record reflects that there ARE different votes.
