Fisher was his boss when he was here and it really hampered Snead ability to do his job.
No it didn't. If it had, then, they would not have had a good team last year. They had a good team last year in large part because they had a long list of inherited talent.
Subtract the following players (just for examples, there are more) and make them start over at these positions:
Defensive player of the year: Donald
Offensive player of the year: Gurley
Pro bowl qb: Goff
Here's another example for you. In 2012, they acquired three rookie DBs, all of whom went on to play well and commanded good-sized contracts as free agents: Jenkins, Tru, McLeod.
Name the last Rams team that found 3 DBs of that quality in the same year.
You subtract all the inherited talent from the 2017 team, and it's not a winner. It's a rebuilding team starting from scratch.
Where I fault the Fisher/Snead Rams:
* Robinson (but that's balanced by getting Donald in the same draft)
* Receiver (though the current Rams did inherit Cooper
* Some free agents (Cook, Britt) but not all (Hayes) (and Long was good but got injured) (same with Wells)
Overall, though, they did well.
Or as of right now they would still be trying to build toward being a winner.
