Excellent question, max. And the answer is unknowable at this point.
But I will say this.
McVay will probably tweak his passing O in order to get more targets for Cooks than Watkins ever had. And I expect Cooks to hit the ground running in terms of knowing the playbook and with having good chemistry with Goff, neither of which Watkins ever seemed to have.
Moreover, I expect that there will be fewer targets for Woods, Kupp, and Gurley this year. Not a ton less, but a few. All those will now be going to Cooks.
The result should terrify opposing D’s and force them to gameplan with fairly extreme scheming. Ironically, that, in turn, will make the others even MORE effective. IOW, the attention that Watkins was lauded for requiring will be even more so for Cooks.
It’s a synergy thing. Can’t wait to see how McVay utilizes Cooks.
