I am on the fence, actually....I prefer OL and Edge.....
However, the reality is we have a guy who is:
1) a TOP 5 downfield threat in the NFL.
2)He can run patterns from slot and and X.
3) He has great numbers for a small, fast guy---meaning not many guys in NFL history run a 4.35, and get the production he has. (Many, like DeSean Jackons are hurt or many of these "speedsters" have career years with only 45-65 balls max like Flipper, Mike Wallace, Torrey Smith in their prime years---
while Brooks is an 80+ catch guy).
4) Guys like Flipper, Torrey S, Mike Wallace can
not run any patterns other than the '9' and the deep slant.
This guy has short area quickness and burst/explosion that those 'typical' fliers don't really have.
5) He will produce fear for the opposition.
6) Yes, Anything over $12-13 mill a year would make me sad. But, we need the 'fear' WR.
The Rams have pursued him for over a year, talked to coaches who worked with him, did background checks---all of which no one here has done. McVay did a lot of good last year, so even though I don't love this trade, it will make us a better team in 2018, and IF we sign him, he is only 24-25 so we have tread on the tire, unlike Talib.
