For those hoping that McVay could show something different for ‘18 that opponents haven’t been able to study?
I think that Cooks is that “something different”. I think that he’s gonna exceed our expectations by a wide margin, just as Woods did last year.

What makes you think Cooks will put up similar numbers to what he’s put up the last few years?
There are a lot of mouths to feed in this offense. And Goff is not Brady or Brees. I am very doubtful that Cooks puts up 1000 yards this year. That’s twice what Watkins put up last year.
I think it’s hard to exceed expectations by a wide margin when he’s less productive than he was in NO and NE.
What do you think the over/under is on Cooks yards this year? My guess is 800 yards.
There’s no doubt we needed a field stretcher to open stuff up for our other weapons, but I don’t see Cooks as a big fantasy numbers guy. Most analysts have him going after the 4th round in fantasy drafts. That’s nowhere near where he went the past few years.
The burden of proof is on McVay and Goff to show that they can get the same or better production from Cooks. A lot of people will be surprised if they do.
