I like McVay, I'm happy with him.
My dissatisfaction with the Rams has nothing to do with McVay. He doesn't do contracts!
Contracts were a problem before McVay and IMO remain a problem.
You say the team doesn't overpay under McVay? Yeah, they do. Ogletree is overpaid.
Does anyone really think that AO is the best ILB in the league? Anyone!!!??? He's the highest paid ILB in the league but an average player.
The coaches may know what they want and need but they rely on people who negotiate contracts and handle the cap to be good at their jobs. I'm not seeing that part and this predates McVay.
This isn't just about Watkins; it's about Joyner too. He was the player they should have extended.
Franchise tags alienate players. You think he's gonna be willing to sign long term for less than $11M a year now that he's being frachised at close to $12M?
Besides Quinn, the only players that they have been able to extend were questionable signings (TA, Barron, AO) at ridiculous amounts. If you're gonna pay ridiculous amounts, choose better players to do it on!
You can complain lol you want bout it, but at the end of the day, the Rams have one of the youngest most talented teams in the NFL, and after the Quinn trade they have the most cap space available out of
any playoff team. They were third most before the trade.
Free agency hasn't even started and people are freaking out.....let's see how things turn out before we start screaming Iceberg!!!
They seemed to have had a pretty damn good free agency last year...let's see what happens.
Gets old hearing about the Fisher regime days, when he is long gone.
