And the players know that from 2012-15 that they had both a starting caliber qb and an intact veteran OL for a total of 15 out of 64 games. (And I am not talking about losing a lineman here or there.) And they're smart enough to know not many coaches, if any, have won under those conditions. They're also smart enough to know that no team for decades has won after moving across state lines.

I doubt the players know or factor into the equation any such thing.
.

No they're professionals. They know when they play a team that has those conditions, they have an advantage. They KNOW that. They know when they play with those conditions they are at a disadvantage. They're not fans. They don't automatically default to emotional coach blame and ignore the situation and context. They just know better than that.

....

As professionals, they know when they need better coaching. They know when they've underperformed, despite all contextual factors, under the previous coaching regime.

Recognizing that need for better coaching as professionals is not emotional coach blame.

Moreover, as professionals, they know that being at a disadvantage is not the same as accepting that they're gonna lose because 'not many coaches, if any, have won under their conditions.'

As professionals, they can take in context while simultaneously recognizing that their coach didn't extract their best from them. Those two concepts are not mutually exclusive.

And not a single player ever said they "needed better coaching." I can if you want go back and find players from other teams who DID say that. That's not what happened here. People are trying to find ways to make things up along those lines but they're going on nothing.

The key is that if you do not account for the factors I named, then, you're not doing a real or fair analysis.

We KNOW the players know that, they're professionals who know very well that if they are playing a team that has started a #2 qb behind a busted up OL for most of the season, then they have an advantage. They would have to be blitheringly crazy to NOT know that.

It's just in fan discussions that those kinds of things get ignored.

It stands to reason that if they did not have those conditions from 2012-15 then they would have done better. Heck players on opposing teams knew that at the time, let alone the Rams players.

To me if you have not factored those things in, you have done a real analysis. It really is that simple.
