I keep losing Internet and missing stuff, but I was reading one article and half way through it seemed like Fisher was claiming credit for the turnaround. Is that true or did I only get half the story?

No he's not claiming credit.

He's said that he left the Rams with a lot of players.

He also said that McVay is a fantastic coach.

Both things are true and some people are just over-reacting.

At the same time it was crass of him to say the first bit. That doesnt make it false though and it's not the same as "claiming the credit." That construction was a product of the over-reactions.

In my opinion, the players wouldn't have felt the need to pointedly give credit for their success to McVay right after the Fisher statement unless they took Fisher's statement the same way many others did.. Listen, we've all seen and heard Fisher divert blame, throw players under the bus, claim he's not making excuses and then riddle press conferences with excuses, along with many other stomach-turning Fisher statements which will go down in infamy (I'm NOT going 7and 9, or 8 and 8, I know what I'm doing, blah, blah, blah). Not everybody reads into what Fisher said the same way and that's fine. The bottom line is... Fisher brought in some talent, didn't quite know what to do with it for 5 years, and now he's gone. McVay comes in, has a smart plan to maximize that talent, and in his 1st year has done so with fantastic results. The proof is in the pudding.

Well name any players at any time in any regime who credited the previous coach. Is that a common thing?

And the players know that from 2012-15 that they had both a starting caliber qb and an intact veteran OL for a total of 15 out of 64 games. (And I am not talking about losing a lineman here or there.) And they're smart enough to know not many coaches, if any, have won under those conditions. They're also smart enough to know that no team for decades has won after moving across state lines.

But the main thing is, all Fisher said was, he left the new regime with a lot of players.

That's just true.

I don't see the point of over-reacting to him saying that. I've been saying it since before the off-season. It is just true.

Especially when what he's accused of never happened...he did not take credit for them winning this year, AND in addition to not doing that, praised the coach.
