Holy guacamole, Batman.
I know we’re just spitballin’ here, and it’s all just hypothetical, but....
RFIP, you’d consider for even a nanosecond trading Goff to the Colts for a 1st, 2nd, and a third?
I mean this in the nicest way, but.... that is the stinkiest , poopiest trade idea ever. Ever.
If the trade involved an established qb— like Cousins— then perhaps it is a thought at least entertaining.
But for mere draft picks, no way.
Even those who are not fans of Goff probably would acknowledge he has talent, upside, toughness, and good pocket awareness. And even skeptics Would probably acknowledge that his progress from last year to this year has been phenomenal, and there is a decent chance he could improve next year as well.
Getting a QB in the draft is an incredible roll of the dice, nothing can be taken for granted. For the first time in over a decade, the Rams have a talented QB they can build the franchise around. The very thought that someone would even consider the possibility of trading our young, ascending QB for 3 draft picks... it’s just mind-boggling to me. I understand the purpose of your post was mostly to point out Donald is a special talent and value to the team. But the thought of trading away the young franchise QB for draft picks should be completely off the table, never to be entertained, no questions asked, nada, nothing, zip, just don’t do it. Ever.
IMHO.
