RFIP, I can't imagine this is the correct interpretation.
I was in a loud sports bar, and so I did not have the chance to hear what Blandino said about the situation.
Anybody know where the holding infraction took place? The replays seemed to suggest the holding penalty occurred around the 20 or the 22. Again, WITHOUT enforcement of the P.I. penalty on Washington, this one single penalty would seem to suggest that the Rams would start 10 yards back from the spot of the foul-- i.e., at the 10 or the 12.
Frankly, I rarely watch NFL games other than Rams games anymore. But on kickoff returns, it must not be THAT unusual for there to be infractions on both teams-- yet I have never seen the ball placed at "the point where change in possession occurred"-- i.e.where the kick returner initially caught the ball.
Looking forward to getting clarity on this. It's hard to imagine it was called "according to the book" if none of us has ever, ever seen it called like this before.
