dont get me wrong...i wanted them to keep jj. but every player has a price point.
i didnt watch a ton of giant games but he appeared to play very well last year. tru played ok for the rams. so if you just base it on last year jj wins. but over the course of their careers i dont know that jj is appreciably better then tru (taking scheme out of the equation).
in any event, all is not lost with tru. i think what you might see next year is that the rams transition tag tru and see if someone signs him. if the price is "reasonable" they will match. but i guess it depends on wades impression of tru.
The tag is guaranteed too. So essentially they gave Tru 30+ M in guaranteed money for 2 years while with JJ the guaranteed money is 28 M though it';s more spread out (or it would have been 28 M if the Giants contract indicates anything). Same difference. Except arguably JJ is the better corner and of course he has a deal which means he would have been around next year, whereas with Tru they rented him for 2 years and then, most likely, will let him walk.
