probably true but im not sure i was thinking they would both get that type of money at the time. as mnay have said, they are good but not great. but i guess thats what happens in free agency, especially for teams that have hstorically not been very good. they need to overpay for talent.

They both have their positives; Tru's size and physicalty vs JJ's cover skills. And both have weaknesses. Scheme is key too. Betting Seattle would rather have Tru but JJ is the better overall CB I think.
Also no team can afford two $10+ mil cbs so that imo was never going to happen.

for the record I wanted to signed both JJ and Tru to long term deals. Nevertheless, they are 2 and 3 in terms of a salary cap hit at the cb position in 2017

is one appreciably better then then other? In terms of last year, JJ clearly had the better year, but in 2015 I would say it was Tru. How will each perform in 2017?
Over the course of their careers, I think you might consider them equal talents.
