He still didn't produce much. It wasn't as bad as I thought because he missed 3 games, but I am not doing cartwheels about a guy that gets 600 yards in a season when he is the main guy. Even when Watkins was in the lineup, he was gimpy so for the most part, Woods had more than a third of a season when he was the main guy because Watkins wasn't even on the field and the other 1/2 where with the Watkins was limping along playing at 50%. Woods had ample opportunity to get more output.
I will never follow the logic that A Target Stat can be used as "An Excuse" for lack of production.
I maintain that for the most part, if you are not targeted, it is because you are not producing. When you get the targets, if you do something with them, you get more targets.
The only thing that you put an * about the 600 yards is that he missed 3 games and he played in a Run Oriented Offense.
My entire beef here is the concept of a Target Stat being an excuse.
If when his targets went up, he produced a 900-1100 season, I say he had arrived as being a high end #2 WR or low end #1 receiver.
That did not happen. The pattern of 500-700 yards has been consistent season after season.
