One nice thing is that McVay is getting time to work with his young QB.
There are few guys in the NFL at QB that can throw guys open. Part of that exotic statement is relying on the WR to attack the ball. Reynolds, the new kid, showed some of that moxie.
Can Higbee be relied on to do the same? Can Jared get the ball in that spot to let Kupp, and Woods to snap the rock up?
Britt is going to be missed. The question is; How much?
He made some crazy plays, and enjoyed that height differential, and was more athletic than the former group he was with.
No sooner did we finally get that 1000yd season out of WR, than we ejected said WR, and had a reset.
I've utterly lost my faith in Tavon Austin as a WR that breaks defenses with his speed, and game. McVay and co can work, and game plan, but Austin is who he is. However, I'll take his 500 yds, and 6 TDs that he came up with last year. BTW, how much would I prefer to have Andre Hopkins over Tavon? As a WR? Plenty.
McVay's new system still will require execution, and I have lot of higher hopes for Woods and Kupp within that spectrum than a lot of the rest of the group.
Long ways to August from here, but the next number of OTAs may reflect the coaches sense of things by roster moves after the conclusion of the 10 sessions.
With Austin out of the way with a cast on his wrist, the sessions should provide a number of extra looks for the receiving corps.
3 players I'd really to like to hear positive feedback on? Higbee, Everett, Josh Reynolds.
