and with TE, CB, DE there's a lot of flexibility. WR not so much. I mean WR is deep and all, but when you look at guys who can play split end it's a smaller sample size.

You may be right about TE, given that we have a coach in year one who is probably not worried about lack of year one impact on his job security. But then again Les is about to run his first draft out from under Fisher's shadow, so I have to think he knows this one needs to be a statement draft with quality picks at every spot.

I really like some of the round 3+ TEs, so maybe that's the difference. And I also really like Higbee, outside of his injury history I think he's a helluva prospect and will be going into year 2. When I look at this offense and consider that, a round 3 or 4 TE for depth while they get good impact in round 2 is the way to go.

All that aside I do like Engram a lot and he's a fit for McVay. And McVay is also a good enough OC to utilize two TEs with skills creatively and get mismatches. So it's not like I'll be disappointed if they take him there at 37, I'd be fine with it.
