It's about whether or not they can play like Jordan Reed. Now, Reed is a nasty brawler, which is why he is likely going to knock himself out of the league ... but while he is in, in McVay's offense, he is a matchup nightmare and a dominant football player.
If McVay thinks there is a TE like that in this draft, be it Engram, Everett, Jonnu Smith, Kittle, whoever ... I hope he takes him. Personally I think it's Engram. But it could be one of those others, also. In that case, I am unphased by his impact this year if he can play at a pro bowl level in a year or two.
I am personally a fan of Engram because of his ability to track the ball downfield, run away from safeties, and destroy defender's angles. I take Engram all day.
