realize that sounds absurdly overweighted, but Jake Butt, and some others later in the draft solve an issue. I don't think Engram solves the dirty work that tight ends bring to the blocking along the line.
and, I have no idea how Higbee and Hemmingway will develop as we head towards the draft.
McVay gets a mere 3 weeks starting tomorrow to sort out his roster as best as he can and see what gives.
If Engram is the pick, does he have enough in the aforementioned guys to make sure there's enough in line blocking help?
remain a fan of what Jake Butt can do. and i'd lean his way over a lot of other prospects for a solid situation going forward.
