Oh I agree. And I think long-term he's very likely going to become a good player. But a team like, say, New England could afford to draft him and moth ball him most of the year behind Gronkowski and Dwayne Allen. Butt is going to miss OTAs, camp (except for rehab and off-to-the-side work and some individual drills) and when he is physically ready enough it's probably going to be around Halloween as you said.

I'm not concerned about the Rams lacking a 1st round pick. They have eight selections overall. But there IS more urgency to getting players at 37 and 69 that can contribute immediately. And Butt's not that guy.
