but the questions which accentuate that fact for me.

This is why the patience for Fisher and their methodology was a failure because it did not really reflect the big picture in my book.

Even marginal success would have been seen as 8-8 to 9-7 and likely Fisher keeps his job.

The FA questions would still be an issue.

Rams by most fan estimation were highly handicapped by their lack of success and therefore affirming what many suspected, that their personnel decisions defensively and especially on offense, were not in scope with the anticipated results of team growth and development and future success. It was a given that the trade up for Goff would have to have immediate results to elevate the team during what would be a necessary transition but no positive gains or efforts were produced on offense and no investment was made to bolter that decision. (OL? WR?) A recipe for doom. Where was Snead's influence or wisdom in that?

All those picks that are no longer on the team or in the league that have filtered thru the organization during the Fisher/Snead era have brought us to the point where we have to parse the team up and possibly lose players like McDonald & Trumaine Johnson following the exit of Jenkins last year. We can barely sell the WRs we currently have as returnable and we have a cap that has been compromised by some short sighted negotiations and use of cap dollars.

The offensive line deficiencies and the many risk and gambles we have made and decisions on LT that have been deferred during the Fisher/Snead era make it clear this could be the most pivotal year for Snead to justify his job. Now Demoff has to share cap management failures despite taking credit for managing the cap as long as Fisher 's vision and status was deemed secure. I just think that the waiting game and slow row approach has been a mismatch from the start and now we have to pay the piper a bit. Not For Long means you cannot slow play your opportunity. Yo have to coach draft and plan as if any season could be your last.

I contend that success in 2017 would have been tenuous at best under Fisher and while we may have to set our aims at what I called marginal success of going 8-8 to 9-7 it would be a total triumph with McVay and for Sneed because I guarantee McVay is not going to be as passive and slow to adjust as his own future is on the line. Jeff's sense of entitlement and stability or the teams projection of it have proven to have been his undoing because he really believed he had more time than he should have believed. A sad but forecastable end that has proven to have been well earned.

Welcome to the McVay era and I wish Snead luck and success but he must deliver if he will continue in the future imo.
