The idea of signing Sensabaugh as their 4th CB and insurance for EJ Gaines return was fine to me. Made sense. Signing him for 4 years/$15M was an awful contract and I highly doubt they were competing with a lot of bidders for him.
I'm in the camp that Austin is in no way a bust (ie Jason Smith, Tye Hill) but has clearly way underperformed relative to his draft status. He is a top-10 pick that's produced like a 3rd round pick. To me he's similar to Alex Barron in that regard. I think he marginally earned having his 5th year option picked up. He didn't earn the extension. Maybe McVay can squeeze some more out of him. I hope so. If not cut bait after 2017.
