Apart from trading up for Austin, drafting Robinson, the Sensabaugh deal and then extending Austin I really don't have any complaints about Snead.
Well this also shows how complicated it is.
So we really attribute Sensabaugh to Snead? They signed him because a senior veteran established coach, Williams, wanted him because he had worked with him before. Does Snead even have anything to do with that? On top of it, pro scouting and college scouting are not the same people.
And Austin is a value judgment--I happen to be fine with trading up for him. And I am fine with extending him. So there's no set judgment on Austin--just clashing views (in contrast there's a set judgment on Sensabaugh...no one defends him).
Robinson is a huge issue but then Donald isn't. So that's a mixed record.
Now though instead of a veteran coach with a rookie GM (Fisher/Snead), we have a rookie coach with a veteran GM (McVay/Snead), Does that make the dynamic different?
