ALL the resources he and Fisher invested into this offense over the last several years and the "duh" focus is STILL on figuring out how to improve the offense.
But he also has to figure out how to improve the back 7 on defense.
Probably can be credited for nullifying any talent infusion that he was part of. Demoff should be fired as well because not finding a way to retain top talent means nothing to say you once acquired them.
It's about retention and having the right building blocks.
Rams reward payers too late or before they have earned their contracts and should have been more alert on Robert Quin and Tavon Austin. The only reason this was possible to happen is that Fisher despite his anual failure as Ram's HC was provided shelter and covering for his shortcomings and Ram's were already planning to reward him inspite of that.
Quin back problems
Quick production and health questions
Tavon Austin hand and route running deficits.
Keenum Talent and skill deficit
Kendricks under utilized and unproven
We could go on but those expenditures were excessive given the results and while this claim from appears to be more hindsight I think undoubtably should not have been recognized by Snead and Demoff let alone Coach Fisher their former resident HC savant of the NFL.
This is what is frustrating. Havng any anticipation for McVay success while having grave questions about his viability within and organization that cannot seem to get it right or anticipate correction and impliment in a timely matter.
It's sorta like a brain or heart surgeon consulting text books and manuals or step -by-step instructions actively during surgery. Prognosis ???
Its hard to believe this franchise is under the knife and these guys are the ones expected to save it. McVay is the star intern that is supposed to turn this around and yet I think his real chances are better on an episode of Greys Anatomy.
Let's hope it's even possible. I will focus on the new staff but they are severely handicapped by the old regime.
