Seems like we always give away players for less than their value and when we trade for a pick, we usually give up more than what is considered "fair".
So, I ask, have "WE" ever been the ones to "fleece" some other team??? Not sure I can remember even one time we did! lol
When a team is trading a player they don't get to determine his value. The Rams could put Puka on the market tomorrow and if the best offer they got was a 3rd round pick then that's exactly what he's worth on the open market no matter what you and I think.
That said, I think he's worth more than that. If the Rams agree with me they simply say 'thanks, but no thanks' and hang on to Puka.
When the Rams traded Woods for a 6th do you think they had a better offer on the table? I don't, and other than making accommodations to do right by a player as far as sending him where he wants to go the market sets the price, not you and me. Or the Rams.
