I am with you on this, however one consistent thing in Dotson's play

He played well on a contract year. Before that, not so much. You would have to feel really good about knowing who he is as an individual and if he has the drive to play at the same high level he showed this year to sign him to a large contract.

And this is over the course of his first contract, is that he's a good pass blocker. He can handle power rushers because he's strong enough, and he can handle guys with more quickness and technique. On top of that he has shown decently in the run game for us too. So overall package I think we know who he is.

But yes the question is where will his mentality be when he gets paid. Will his focus on the field drop. This might be a fear with teams, and might be why Pittsburgh moved him. Teams won't come out and say this stuff. But their moves will reflect it. So we will see whether the Rams trust him.

Personally I was very skeptical of him early on as I very much think like you do in that regard. But his play and the idea of us starting next season with a good OL in week one is very alluring to me. To the point where I say take a chance on him. Assuming of course he's not ridiculous in his demands.
