Saw a blurb about it somewhere, I forget where... but didn't read it. I went back to reading a few days ago. I was cleaning out a drawer and found a paperback buried under some old T-Shirts. Dean Koontz book. VERY long... so I began reading it - About 25 pages in I began to realize I had read this before... but for some very strange reason I couldn't remember the story... and I can'tby JamesJM - Bucky's Pub

It's Cheerleader tryouts today - for next season. 60+ little girls, ages 4 to 7, applied.... not sure how many get chosen but it's somewhere around 25? Lot of broken hearts today. My granddaughter is the leader for the Mighty Mite group... not sure what her 'title' is. The judges are brought in, not from around here.... some Fresno State Bulldogs Cheerleaders... various others from arounby JamesJM - Bucky's Pub
but out of my hands. Skis - not worried about 'where' as much as 'what'. Completely different skis today than when I last purchased; which was probably 15 years ago? Maybe 20.by JamesJM - Bucky's Pub
That's unforgivable isn't it? Me being a musician and all. Guess I could never see what they would say after, "I smoked a joint and smashed the TV in my hotel room". :laughingby JamesJM - Bucky's Pub
that I enjoyed the races and I think he did great. Definitely he's on my 'watch' list from now on. :laughing Update: And this won't at first sound like it but it's 'ski' related. Doing well on my diet... two months in... definitely losing weight. Mystery/Thriller.... in somewhat of a vintage tradition. Starred Mark Rylance... know him? I didn't. His face was vaguely familiar. I checked out the movies he's been in and yes, I had seen a few of them... but I do not recall him standing out in any of them... in this one he did. Reading about him on IMDB they started his bio by saying: "Widely regarded as the greatest stage actor oby JamesJM - Bucky's Pub
But wow, talk about a cliff hanger ending. Definitely made to suck you onto Episode III. :laughingby JamesJM - Bucky's Pub
I didn't know that.... Lee is one of my favorite actors. And actually, I think he would have been very, very good in the role. However - Shaw was perfection. His performance cannot be topped. It can't even be equaled. We discussed, (or similar), before... .there are a few performances that simply could not have been improved on. I would say George C Scott in Patton. finished in the top half I mean. I believe the event has ended. I'm new to this so it's always possible I'm reading things incorrectly. Years ago I did follow the nationals somewhat closely because two of my daughter's friends competed. Of course when I say 'follow' I don't mean like today. :laughing That was 20+ years ago so no streaming and no live time tracking. We did have email, hby JamesJM - Bucky's Pub
So I didn't read you post for fear of spoilers. I think, can't remember for for sure, that some time back I posted that I wasn't sure if I'd ever get back into the Mandalorian because so much time had passed... but I wasn't thinking - :laughing I have grandsons... they weren't about to allow me to not get back into it. I was afraid I'd miss him..... I was never sure of the 'order' and when he might make his run. Had to be very quick taking a leak. :laughing He did very well.... lot of competitors didn't make it and I'm sure the conditions was the main reason. I'm still following the times but I had to mute the stream because I just couldn't take any more of that background music. :laughingby JamesJM - Bucky's Pub
My WORD please kill the background music. :laughingby JamesJM - Bucky's Pub
Broadcast doesn't do justice to just how tough the conditions are. And you betcha it's good times no matter the result. Just to be there is an amazing accomplishment IMO. My oldest grandson just tuned in.... he's a snowboarder, as you know, but he has a lot of friends into skiing and he just began learning himself... he decided he wants to be competent both with skies and snowboard.by JamesJM - Bucky's Pub
They just said on the feed that it will start in 15 minutes. 163 total competitors today!by JamesJM - Bucky's Pub
I don't know how "live" this stream is. I'm hoping, and think it is, real time.... Amazing how quickly they are starting the women skiers... obviously they're doing their best to get the races completed. I'm getting two audio feeds, over the top of each other. Hard to follow BUT... they are doing a good job of announcing the names of the competitors so when Teddy runs I should knby JamesJM - Bucky's Pub

if he would have passed through a little later he could have met me at the Sante Fe Restaurant in Fresno. I'm meeting some old friends for lunch. Couple Picon's before lunch, wine during lunch... oh yes, a good day... not to mention I'm taking a day off from my diet. :laughingby JamesJM - Bucky's Pub
Can you spell out exactly which race(s) your grandson will be entered in? Alpine, I know... but which specific events?by JamesJM - Bucky's Pub

Congrats Sierra.... I know next to nothing about basketball. But the towering height of Ripon had me thinking that Sierra, (who i was pulling for), had little to no chance. Oops. Sierra pulled it out.... which surprised me but wasn't my biggest surprise.... they out rebounded the Redwood Trees from Ripon. It was a good game and both teams deserve congratulations. I remember, for sure, they had two kids 6' 8" and two that were 6' 7". Then 6 or 7 at 6' 4" and 6' 5". Our tallest kid is 6' 2". :laughing BUT... he's an OL'man in football, his primary sport, so they couldn't get thru him. :laughing Not sure of Sierra's average height; we didn't play them this year. A ski resort on the western slopes but yeah... I knew that would be next to impossible... the logistics of it. Actually I haven't seen the Oscars in several years. Used to not miss them.
