Quote73Ram QuoteznYes, Mannion is automatically the #3. That's pretty apparent. And I agree with the 2nd statement. In fact we said nearly the same thing. He wants to get more out of Goff because he is a developing high pick, and at the same time CK is probably going to start and/or be the #2. So yes. I don't know why Sean is automatically #3. Sean has out played Jared in camp and on the field.by Rams43 - RamsFootballFans.com
You can add my name to the long list of those who had underestimated Barnes. And the equally long list of those who are very happy to have been wrong. Lol.by Rams43 - RamsFootballFans.com
Quoteoldschoolramfan Simple. Quick is in year 3, the rookies are just that, rookies. A 4 year vet, who already knows the playbook should not even be in the same conversation. Yet, Quick finds himself still in that roster battle. I say trade Quick.......We need to get something for him and teams will make a trade. Get some secondary help. I prefer to go with Duke, McRoberts, Thomas, Richardsby Rams43 - RamsFootballFans.com
Quotemoklerman Never said the WR situation hasn't been addressed. But addressed and fixed are two different animals. We've seen coaching moves and player acquisitions before but it still hasn't solved the WR problem the Rams have had. A bunch of neophyte coaches and mid to late round WR projects is par for the Fisher course. I don't think the offense has a whole new feel to it so far this yby Rams43 - RamsFootballFans.com
Quick should be Exhibit A for demonstrating why measurables are no substitute for being a genuine football player. Give me the player with football smarts and heart every time over the player with just the measurables. S&F simply got carried away with Quick's private workout. It happens.by Rams43 - RamsFootballFans.com
QuoteLMU93 Whether it's a "#1 WR" like a Holt or Bruce or not, "receiving threat" is the key. Receivers the defense respects and has to account for every play. Receivers that prevent defenses loading up the box vs. the run. I do think Higbee could develop into that guy. And if he does the unpredictability of the offense goes way up, regardless of play calls. I also think Hby Rams43 - RamsFootballFans.com
Quotemoklerman They haven't even played a down of NFL football yet. I think it's a bit premature to forget about the WR problem the Rams have had for years. Why are you dragging out WR deficiencies of yesteryear as if the position hasn't been addressed, mokler? My Gawd! The draft and UDFA was hugely devoted to addressing our passing game weakness. BY MARK WHICKER/ STAFF COLUMNIST Whicker: Rams rookie LB Cory Littleton hopes to make the team - and the main locker room Aug. 21, 2016 Updated 11:31 a.m. "Some days he's going to be all right and some days he's not going to. The good thing is that he stayed strong in there." – Rams receiver Tevon Austin, on Jared Goff LOS ANGELES – The Rams’ locker room has a storyby Rams43 - RamsFootballFans.com
We'll get our #1 WR someday. But since I'm assuming that we draft in the low twenties in the 2nd round next year, Snead will have to pull a rabbit out of his hat to get one. Then again, he's done that before all over the roster, huh? Know why I'm not particularly worried about lacking a "#1 WR"? Because we now have multiple weapons on this roster and coaches that seem to know hby Rams43 - RamsFootballFans.com
I was just being nitpicky about your Sensabaugh "worst signing" overstatement, dz. And took the opportunity to take a few swipes at Fisher in the process. I'm a flawed human being, what can I say? Lol. You make a persuasive argument about the advantage of keeping McLeod at $7.5 million over Sensabaugh at $5 million. You've changed my mind there. Perhaps Fisher/GZ just really lby Rams43 - RamsFootballFans.com
Patience, 17. I can get away with saying that to you 'cause I've been a 49 year Ram fan, myself. Lol. Here are Keenum's stats in the Chiefs game. Check out his stats for the 2 preseason games this year... Plus the Rams have been scoring on the ground under his direction. Look at those QB ratings, man. Keenum is playing well this year behind this OL and with Higbee. He'sby Rams43 - RamsFootballFans.com
Hate to nitpick, dz, but I just can't help myself. "Sensabaugh is horrible and the worst signing of the Fisher regime". Ummmmm... That one is over the top. I'm no Sensabaugh fan, mind you. QuoteSoCalRAMatic About BQ, I won't apologize about his drops. They are awful. But, the WR position is about more than being a pass catcher. I think he's one of the better blocking WRs in the NFL. When we play our first game against the Niners we will undoubtably run Gurley early and often as we should with play action passes out of those running sets. I think must if these throws will be to Kenby Rams43 - RamsFootballFans.com

QuotePHDram and what at what position? i thought it was curious that coples didnt play until late in the KC game. at least i didnt see him earlier and i believe he played dt exclusively. Moreover, guys like cam thomas and longacre were playing at the end of the first quarter. Can anything be gleaned from that or are they just moving guys around to see the best fit? I just dunno, PHD.by Rams43 - RamsFootballFans.com
QuoteSoCalRAMatic Good points. I have a crazy, maybe stupid question...why can't Case start and Fiff gets a series or two during games? I never got the idea that the starter gas to be in there for every play. Why? Case does seem way ahead of Goffy right now and that's ok. Mannion is ahead of him too. QuoteLBRamsFan I think Keenum is going to have to be wildly successful to keep Goff off the bench. Like first place, and playing at an all-pro level. If the Rams are win one, lose one, Goff will play. Fisher's mantra since the beginning is that "Goff will play when he is ready." He has explained that "ready" means that he can "protect himself." We've gotta bear in mind that it's preseason. Meaning that vets just aren't feeling the need to go 100% just yet if their starter status is secure. And GW isn't scheming much yet, if at all. THAT will change come opening day, trust me. This applies to both TruJo and TJM. We will see the "real" players there when the regular season begins. Both played at near Pro Bowl level in '15. The Rams are in an enviable situation at their QB position. Not comparable to those of The Bucs, Titans, and Colts when they each took QB's high and were forced to start them immediately because there was no credible alternative behind them. Keenum is a VERY viable option. A rare Ram winning QB option. Fisher can expect wins early and allow Goff to more fully develop properly. Best of bby Rams43 - RamsFootballFans.com

QuoteGreatRamNTheSky If they are not even bothering to throw you the ball during games as a receiver how can you make the team? Williams has been a non-factor as a receiver in these two games. QuoteAlbaNY_Ram Technically it's 6 draft picks for a guy who hasn't beaten out Case Keenum thru 2 preseason games. There's a big difference between not having the talent to start and not being ready to start. Is there any doubt that Goff will be ready to start at some point? Yeah, I have a few concerns, too. But not nearly "step off the ledge" type concerns. Our DL? Well, it was scarcely our actual DL, other than cameo appearances by Donald, Brockers, and Hayes. Quinn out, too. They wanted (and needed) to take a long hard look at their depth players, and they did. Against the Chief ones through the first half, mind you. I dunno, leaf. 'Hiding" Williams just doesn't make a helluva lot of sense to me. If he's one of the best 6, he needs to get his targets and he would deserve to be on the 53. Heaven knows that we have openings at WR. If he's not one of the best 6 and gets plucked from the PS, so what? Then it would be a small loss. If it were up to me, I would be force feeding our WR candidates inby Rams43 - RamsFootballFans.com
A stream of consciousness thing here, so in no particular order. Keenum will be our opening day QB. As Chuck Knox would have said, he's had a "real fine" camp and preseason. I, for one, am perfectly okay with it since Keenum gives us the best chance to win vs the Niners. Goff is growing right before our eyes. It's just a matter of time, huh?
