About BQ, I won't apologize about his drops. They are awful. But, the WR position is about more than being a pass catcher. I think he's one of the better blocking WRs in the NFL. When we play our first game against the Niners we will undoubtably run Gurley early and often as we should with play action passes out of those running sets. I think must if these throws will be to Kendricks, Britt and Tavon. BQ uses his big body and strength to block downfield to spring our guys for home run plays. I would be pretty peaved if we simply cut him for dropping passes in practice games. Do I predict he'll turn into a superstar Larry Fitz type of WR? No. He probably won't live up to his draft status. But, if he blocks well enough that our other weapons can score, I'm good to go.
I forced myself to count to 10 before posting this reply, SoCal. Lol.
Here's the thing.
If one must focus on a WR's blocking skills as he starts his 5th season just to try to justify keeping him on the 53, the argument is already lost.
Might make some sense for a TE, since that is a major part of the job description. But certainly not for a tall fast WR that is supposed to take the top off of a secondary.
