Yeah, I have a few concerns, too. But not nearly "step off the ledge" type concerns.
Our DL? Well, it was scarcely our actual DL, other than cameo appearances by Donald, Brockers, and Hayes. Quinn out, too. They wanted (and needed) to take a long hard look at their depth players, and they did. Against the Chief ones through the first half, mind you. Our front 4 is the best in the league, after all.
Our LB's? Yeah, I'm kinda underwhelmed. But Barron was out and Ogletree just had a cameo appearance, so there is that.
CB? TruJo played soft, and didn't look good against Alex Smith. But it IS preseason, after all. I'm seriously wondering if Sensabaugh even makes this team after these first 2 games. He looks like the 8th best CB right now. I'm serious. But the good news is that Gaines quickly impressed once he was inserted. He'll be a fine starter opposite TruJo. Joyner has underwhelmed me so far, too. Just let him play slot, okay? Roberson is quality backup at the very least. But here's the promising thing. And I think it's very promising, indeed. I think that Hill, Jordan, and Washington are gems. Each just keeps making plays over and over again. Maybe 2 of them make the 53 if Sensabaugh is released? That's exciting, man. Snead/Fisher/GW have definitely kept their secondary "gem streak" alive for another year.
S? I like either Mo or Bryant at deep S. Davis just doesn't seem to have "it". Measurables just take you so far. Maybe he lacks instincts? Anyway, I'm cautiously optimistic about our S position with either Mo or Bryant back there.
Bottom line impressions of our D? Well, they pitched a shutout in the second half. I truly believe that our regular season starters would have been all over the Chief starters. But Fisher understandably needed to look at his depth.
My biggest concern right now is with the determination of our 5th and 6th WR, frankly. I think everything else will fall into place.
