Jack of all trades. Underappreciated. Best year was 1980- 807 rushing yards, 53 catches. One of only 4 Rams with multiple 100+ yard rushing games in the playoffs (McCutcheon, Dickerson, Gurley).by LMU93 - RamsFootballFans.com
I think you can easily say Brooks was one of the top 5-6 DL in the NFL from the mid-'70s through 1980 (along with Youngblood, Mean Joe Greene, Randy White, Lee Roy Selmon. Maybe Harvey Martin.).by LMU93 - RamsFootballFans.com
A backup for several years that got some starts at RG in 1980 and then took over for a 6-time Pro Bowler at center and ended up going to 6 Pro Bowls himself while being pretty much an iron man for them (6 missed games from 1981-1991).by LMU93 - RamsFootballFans.com
Between the Rams, their (semi-deadbeat) tenants, concerts, Super Bowl 56 (and others later), the college football national championship in 2023, the new 'LA Bowl', 2026 World Cup, 2028 Olympics, Wrestlemania, the new broader complex (condos, theaters, restaurants, ballrooms, etc.), the 6,000-seat music and theatre venue, on and on and on the long-term prospects for the stadium are (no pun intendeby LMU93 - RamsFootballFans.com
Trying to think of road-trip excursions with my family this summer as we're not getting on a plane anytime soon. Canton would be about 650 miles for me. Worth a thought.....by LMU93 - RamsFootballFans.com
I think it's part of the larger plan for the 'campus' around the stadium but I would guess it's pretty far down the line. There's a smaller arena (7-8k or so?) and NFL Network studios that I am guessing are bigger priorities.by LMU93 - RamsFootballFans.com
They barely had a rusher above 800 yards but they ran for 175 yds./game as a team and had 4 players over 400 yards- Bryant (807), Peacock (777), Thomas (427) and Guman (410). You're right, Thomas had those back-to-back 140+ yard games late in the season and was basically almost never heard from again.by LMU93 - RamsFootballFans.com
I can't speak much to some other teams in front of them but I would guess- and understandably so- the major reason why the Rams aren't in the top 10 here is the RBs. They're not ranking (wide) receiving corps, they're ranking overall skill positions. And the Rams have three RBs with combined 6 catches in 2019. The Rams' RBs combined receiving production was 70% less in 2019 than 2017. Someone hasby LMU93 - RamsFootballFans.com

I've been hoping to go to Miami for 11/1 but yeah, hard to be able to pull the trigger on anything for quite a while.by LMU93 - RamsFootballFans.com
Yeah, maybe it is more like 3-5 plays per game. And maybe it is Mundt as the 3rd TE, especially early on. But regardless I think it is a personnel grouping definitely worth using here and there.by LMU93 - RamsFootballFans.com
Considering Everett can shift out wide and Higbee can line up as an H-back or go into the slot it opens up a ton of possibilities and would be near impossible for defenses to key pass or run. I'd be all for seeing 3-TEs 7-10 plays/game.by LMU93 - RamsFootballFans.com
I agree. In 2019 the Rams had 5 DL, 4 LB and 6 DB spots all average at least 25 snaps per game each. That combines, for example, Hager and Reeder counted as one ILB spot. And it doesn't include part-time guys like Gaines and Darious Williams (18+ snaps/game each) and Smart and Long (13+ each). I would definitely expect a similar rotation of 16-17 defensive players again getting significant snby LMU93 - RamsFootballFans.com
Yeah, with Akers that is certainly possible. Same with Henderson. I guess I would say I think it's likely to be 60/40 early on with either one having a chance to seize 70%+ of the workload. I have been a big Van Jefferson fan since draft evals started in January. Just love his fit and what he brings. I would agree that, while Ebukam should be penciled in as the starter opposite Floyd in cby LMU93 - RamsFootballFans.com
At RB I think you can plug either Henderson or Akers in as the "starter" and it doesn't really matter. Both will have significant roles and it should very much be a job sharing role. That may evolve over time but I highly doubt either one gets more than 60% of the workload. Reynolds is likely the 3rd WR to start based largely on familiarity with the offense. I can see Jefferson starby LMU93 - RamsFootballFans.com
Not easy. Now, I was sick for a couple weeks and hadn't done a pushup in almost 3 weeks. But today in 4 minutes- 48.. The first 25 were fine but I fell off a cliff pretty rapidly from there. Going to keep at this 4 minutes thing and see where I can go.by LMU93 - RamsFootballFans.com
You're right, it was disappointing but the "they held their own" was very true. They were 12 point underdogs. You're also right that the 1980 team was WAY better. One of the 5 best teams in the league. You could argue that (while Oakland won the Super Bowl) the top 4 teams in the league in 1980 were Dallas, Atlanta, Philly and the Rams. Rams got their butts handed to them in the seaby LMU93 - RamsFootballFans.com
I was disheartened for him and he (being 'a nice Italian boy') was my family's favorite Ram as well. Also being 1980 I had no clue how to mail a letter to him. So my father calls the local CBS station's sportscaster- and gets the guy on the phone- who thumbs through some book he had and finds the Rams' mailing address for us. I wrote the letter, we mail it, that was it. About 2-3 months later I gby LMU93 - RamsFootballFans.com
In 3rd grade. But I'd only been following the Rams for 2+ years at that point. And while I was still pretty new to football I knew what a powerhouse the Steelers were and that it was going be a big upset for the Rams to win. Someone mentioned Cheryl Ladd doing the national anthem- I recall that too. One of my best friends was from a big Steelers' family and he and I bet a dollar (a lot for an 8-yby LMU93 - RamsFootballFans.com
Not easy... 100 in one workout is hard enough, let alone in 4 minutes. Pushups are the ultimate home quarantine workout. However many you can do, you can do one more the next day.by LMU93 - RamsFootballFans.com
I think they have taken steps to improve the run defense with Robinson, Floyd, Brockers returning, and even some injured guys like Johnson and Kiser coming back. And they have two of the top 10 defensive players in the whole league in Donald and Ramsey. But to me defensively it comes down to their ability to generate consistent pass rush. And right now that's a question mark. Wade mainly lineby LMU93 - RamsFootballFans.com
Agree 100%. Plus as Max said the Chargers coming up way short is a factor.by LMU93 - RamsFootballFans.com
I think the least likely option, actually, is them dipping into free agency for an expensive name UFA. I think Ramsey, Kupp and Johnson are their priorities. Could be Noteboom. Could be Evans. In this Draft they had the chance to take Ezra Cleveland at 52 so getting a LT in the 2nd round of the Draft is possible. Also wouldn't rule out a trade for a guy with 2-3 years' experience.by LMU93 - RamsFootballFans.com
Feel better quickly... I became sick 3 weeks ago with flu symptoms- though felt no worse than a typical flu. I was told to self-quarantine 3 days (and ultimately 7). Tested for COVID the 4th day (when I was basically feeling better) and came back negative. The swab up the nose was highly unpleasant.....by LMU93 - Bucky's Pub
I agree. There is nothing easy about their first three games especially. 3-2 after 5 would be good.by LMU93 - RamsFootballFans.com
"Although a ram’s horn has bone at the core, the exterior — the part that we see, and the part whose color the Rams are supposedly matching — is not bone. It’s actually keratin, which is the same stuff human fingernails and toenails are made of. So this “bone” color name is not only silly, but the stated rationale for it is inaccurate." Regarding the helmets/horns, of course not. They could never remove those. But that's not what they did. And what I mean is the incessant nitpicking about horns on the helmet being... too wide, too thin, too yellow, not yellow enough, not white, must be white (!), curl should angle up 11 more degrees, no make that 18 degrees, on and on and on.. is again just griping to gripe... Whether it's in sports, a B2B or B2C company, a "brand" simply is not just ads, logos, taglines and colors. It's just not. It's one small piece of the bigger pie. It's much greater.
