I think they have taken steps to improve the run defense with Robinson, Floyd, Brockers returning, and even some injured guys like Johnson and Kiser coming back. And they have two of the top 10 defensive players in the whole league in Donald and Ramsey.
But to me defensively it comes down to their ability to generate consistent pass rush. And right now that's a question mark. Wade mainly lined guys up and told them to win. Staley is going to have to scheme pressure with disguised looks, varied blitzing, etc. I hope they can. A stout run defense was job one years ago. But now, while they have a very good secondary overall, they have to be able to pressure the QB or they're sunk.
