Regarding the helmets/horns, of course not. They could never remove those. But that's not what they did. And what I mean is the incessant nitpicking about horns on the helmet being... too wide, too thin, too yellow, not yellow enough, not white, must be white (!), curl should angle up 11 more degrees, no make that 18 degrees, on and on and on.. is again just griping to gripe...
Someone else made a good point in this thread that, while no one knows, most likely the predominant demographic on this board is 40-50+ year old white men. And that's a big piece of their overall fan demographic but it is not THE demographic nor does the team (rightfully) want it to be as big a piece of the pie 10+ years from now.
So, while I personally don't like the bone/white uniforms very much (wish the pants were yellow or that the sleeves were blue/yellow), last night when my wife (middle aged white woman) and daughter (15) saw them they both RAVED about how cool and unique those were. Made me go "hmmm, OK, not my thing but..."
I think a mistake made- both perhaps by the team and also by fans- is taking all these pieces separately and standalone. I will guess- and just my own guess- that the new helmets and home uniforms, in the new incredible stadium, with the oculus display, with the end zones painted and the new fonts and the colors in the stands and the cheerleaders and you name it-
all together will come together quite well. It won't be 1975 again- as much as some ache for it to be- but it will be good....
