Of course we're at the halfway mark and we do play head to head against Mahoney' Chiefs. Brees' Saints only have one loss so if he goes off on us in a win he could move into the lead. Newton? QuoteDrew2839 That quote is garbaggio. "defense is stout"? According to whom? Sure, if you look at the overall stats they aren't bad, but I don't think I'd call them stout. That's nitpicking, but taking Gurley off this team puts a TON of pressure on Goff. Not that I don't think he could handle it.....eventually. But he's still developing. The biggest thing that has been frustrating to me over the last few weeks is the inconsistency of the offense. They have sputtered and been hot and cold as you stated. The NO defense is strong against the run but they are not good against the pass. We need Goff to be on his game and lots of screen passes to Gurley.by dzrams - RamsFootballFans.com
QuoteBigGame81 Just a thought.. And this of course depends on Noteboom's progress. But Whitworth does have some experience playing Guard from earlier in his career. Perhaps playing inside will help with his age and Noteboom could start at LT next season? Let's assume Noteboom progresses beautifully. What would be the point in making that move since Whit is playing great?by dzrams - RamsFootballFans.com

QuoteRams43 Yep, AD is having an other worldly season. Incredible by even HIS lofty standards. But there is a larger point here. Given all the attention opponents devote to AD, why aren’t other Ram defenders feasting as a result? Example: Rams currently have 22 sacks. Only 6 from players not named Donald, Suh, or Littleton. Quotejemach I think a major part of he problem with the run was we ran VERY tight bunch formations and tried to run. Our formations basically brought the DBs into the box...then we tried running up the middle. I just didn't get the strategy. QuoteRamBill .....on the size of the contract he would sign with another team. That's the major factor in determining comp picks. The size of his next contract is largely dependent on how well he does with us. QuoteSUretHing Seemed well pleased two weeks ago filling in for Saffold. They had other names on the 53 who haven't contributed at all that they could have released. So to go directly to your only vet backup OL and move on from him seems telling. Maybe they didn't like how he filled in for Saffold. Who knows... Something they didn't like about him. QuoteSUretHing If a guard does down we will be inserting a rookie. That could be huge With as important as depth OL is, if they are willing to cut him, that is very telling. Obviously they are not impressed with him. Maybe they feel a rookie would do just as well filling in. QuoteEternalHorns On the one hand, you could argue that Watkins and Cooks are not too dissimilar in their output this year and basically a wash. On the other hand, it's clear to me that in McVay's offense Cooks is the better receiver to date (compared to Watkins last year). Can you say, "Well, Watkins missed most of training camp last year?" Is that the reason? Or is the offense iby dzrams - RamsFootballFans.com

QuoteLMU93 I am not a fan of trading a 3rd for a guy if it is for half a season. And I get that they have three 3rds and maybe would get a 2020 (day 3) comp pick if he walks. I thought he would net just a 5th. He averages 6 sacks per 16 games played. I hope Wade can get more out of him. QuoteBigGame81 This was the best pass rusher available, that fit with our cap space. This makes Donald and Suh this much better. Which is scary. It also helps out our secondary as well. They had to make a move because you gotta go for it when you have the chance and we had no glaring weakness but edge defender. according to PFF, Folwer is the 7th best pass rushing edge defender this year. He ranks really low in defending the run though so I wonder if we use him as a situational pass rusher. Thoughts anyone?by dzrams - RamsFootballFans.com
QuoteDrew2839 Just read that those two might be available. Phillips is not too warm with the Ray idea, and it looks like Fowler would be a slight upgrade over what we have, if at all. I get the sentiment for having a positive, celebratory period. After a win, there is a desire to bask in that glow for a bit. To bolster this position, I feel Sag made a very astute point. There is a time and place for everything. And right now, the Rams are in a happy place of being proud of a hard fought win. Critiquing comes later. OTOH, I agree with Jemach. Critiquing is fun.
