His competition is Alaric Jackson IMO. Rams will look at Jackson at LG like they did with Boom to see if he can hold down an OG starting spot while he backs up LT. Being on the left allows him to not have his feet messed with. If he's better than Anchrum he'll be our new LG and Edwards will move to the right side and pair up with his Wisconsin buddy in road grading some fools.

But if Anchrum can win a spot then I'm thinking Boom/Edwards/Allen/Anchrum/Hav. Though they could still move Edwards over.

What would be really nice is them having an OG who could actually upgrade us fall to them late round 3. But I'd be just as happy with a corner or edge, even TE would be fine. Getting an impact player is > filling the need IMO.

I feel about Jackson as I felt about Noteboom, IMO, Noteboom was a better Tackle then Guard and I feel that way about Jackson too, who is on the website is listed incorrectly at 285lbs as his draft website listed him at 321lbs, but Jackson played LT his whole career at Iowa and also played that in preseason last year, so again, I don't believe Guard would be his spot. BTW I also hope the Rams look into drafting someone who could also be in the mix at RG like Thayer Munford of Ohio State, who has great size and might be had in the 5th and IMO, would have a shot at RG too.

You could well be right re: Jackson at OG. I have no idea, just figure he's one of the options to be our best starting 5. I will say he hasn't been pushed around very much though, as opposed to Boom who really got manhandled early on. He's got more lead in his rear end basically which I think will allow him to compete with this group.

If not, then Anchrum probably won't have too much problem beating out Evans. The good thing here is that the Rams do a lot of developing with these guys so there's room for Evans to improve and I hope that's the case.

Basically I'm done making assumptions with the OL. At least I'm accepting of the fact that the Rams play it tight and we don't see enough to really know which of these guys is the best option. But I would be very happy with them drafting an OG, particularly if it's a road grader type. thumbs up smiley
