Prior to last year teams were winning it all without a Kupp every year. But yes that is true.

Again though McDermott is a defensive dude. His defense looked great during the season too but took a nosedive vs KC. If I'm Buffalo's owner right now I'm telling him "why don't you go get what you need for an elite defense." The playoffs are the true litmus test on what you are, so they need to be capable of getting past some great QBs and defense is where they need to improve to do that.
