QuoteGlacieRam I honestly think the Rams defense is built to play with a lead, or the offense scoring points consistently. When the offense is putting up points it allows the defense to play to it's strengths and neutralizes the oppositions ability to just run it down the throats of the defense. When the offense struggles it makes the defense look alot weaker. The way this defense is built itby Leoram - RamsFootballFans.com
For two weeks now, fans have suggested the Rams change their identity because they lost two games in awful fashion. It's been suggested the defense attack more with press coverage or at the very least, tighter off coverage. Watching the 9'ers run the time of possession up by pounding the rock has many suggest the Rams need to focus more on the running game. And since the not so special teams haveby Leoram - RamsFootballFans.com

To me, the point would be that injury depletion of other teams (Derrick Henry for example) hasn't been much of a factor as to how the Rams perform. If they play to their ability, they can be the best in the NFL but we haven't seen a whole lot of that yet. Ramby Leoram - RamsFootballFans.com
Given the many upsets the last two weeks, I'd say nearly any win has quality. The Colts started 0-3 but look like a quality win now, don't they? If they play to their potential, they may be the best in the NFL. Sadly, that hasn't been the case for the most part. The only game I'd say they were consistent and up to standard was the Bucs game.by Leoram - RamsFootballFans.com

I would feel better about it if the Rams were able to take advantage of injury depletion against the Titans and 9'ers. The real question is whether or not they will play more disciplined ball than they have lately.by Leoram - RamsFootballFans.com
QuoteClassicalwit I just don't think the team is capable of playing 60 minutes of disciplined, focused football. They did against the Bucsby Leoram - RamsFootballFans.com
I've had a difficult time getting a read on Stafford because he makes some incredibly accurate throws and then sometimes he is inexplicably off for a series. I get that it takes time to synch up with receivers but he's been money w Kupp so I guess he has difficulty anticipating other receivers? His misses have been mostly over throws as I recall so it may be a mechanical issue.by Leoram - RamsFootballFans.com
The problem here is the disparity between the stats and optics. This defense makes too many plays look easy. There have been times they have been effective, but often it's because of injuries, drops, bad QB play, penalties, or missed assignments by the offense. Generally, effective offenses receive little resistance from this unit until the red zone or if the pass rush gets home. This is justby Leoram - RamsFootballFans.com
I really appreciate how you break down the defensive scheme. The unusual part of their fronts is that they are frequently responsible for 1 1/2 gaps and the way Shanny was pulling traps, the Rams base defense needed to change their rules to apply pressure in the running game differently. Those who say McVay needs to be more multiple in scheme and packages don't really understand how this teamby Leoram - RamsFootballFans.com
Has anyone else noticed that Staley's defense hasn't been a juggernaut with the Chargers? Didn't the Rams lose twice to the 9'ers under Staley? Could it be that the defense is designed to win in a pass happy league so they are vulnerable to running teams? Given time, perhaps they can change the rules of their defense to add another layer of scheme to match teams like the Niners, Ravens, and Titanby Leoram - RamsFootballFans.com

He's so accustomed to being double teamed, his PFF grades should increase. And maybe, with he and Floyd, AD will be singled up more often. Throw in an occasional blitz and ooooohj man!!! It's gonna be funby Leoram - RamsFootballFans.com

The winners will be the ones who get through the playoffs healthy. Kupp always seems to get injured for the postseason. Donald injured his ribs and the Packers were never slowed. The Chiefs lost a couple linemen and couldn't block the Bucs. The Patriots had a perfect season but lost a guard and couldn't block the Giant's front. The only outlier was the Eagles when they had the magic that overcameby Leoram - RamsFootballFans.com
When I look at highlights, I usually see Floyd and Miller over the right tackle. I haven't seen much of either align over the LT. Am I wrong? Does it matter? I guess I'd feel better if I saw either demonstrate success from the right side of the defense. Left and right handed moves are very different and not every player is comfortable from the opposite side.by Leoram - RamsFootballFans.com
I didn't think he was good at all last year. But fans were frustrated w Goff so Wolford was celebrated for being less than average because he was a little mobile.by Leoram - RamsFootballFans.com
Part of the answer is that the Rams are built to run multiple scheme based on what the opposition presents. Until the game gets rolling, nobody knows what the opponent's gameplan is (NE notwithstanding). Also, Stafford is a streaky QB and with a new offense, wouldn't it be natural to take time to get in rhythm? Another factor is that our special teams suck and that has shown up at the beginning oby Leoram - RamsFootballFans.com
I think he makes a good point that John Johnson III was a key to how the Rams played defense last year under Staley. If you watch Chargers games, you'd see a defense not nearly as good as the 2020 Rams. Personnel matters. The off coverages drive all of us crazy but when Raheem does this, it seems he is lulling the offense with overconfidence and mixes it up with pressures and multiple backend looby Leoram - RamsFootballFans.com
Soooo, Pinkney spent the last few months with the Lions and Titans. Hmmmm, who do we play over the next few weeks? This is the kind of signing other teams have done to us over the years to gain intel that I haven't seen us reciprocate before now. I'm not saying we don't need another underwhelming TE, but he's not a Mundt type of blocker.by Leoram - RamsFootballFans.com
Personally, I think Goff is a great backup or bridge and I see a journeyman like career for him ala Fitzpatrick. While others were so eager to celebrate Wolford, I was on record the entire time that he wasn't a good passer and not a real option for a playoff caliber team. Goff is as much better than Wolf as Stafford is better than Goff.by Leoram - RamsFootballFans.com
Is it just me or does chasing the Cards feel like the Dodgers chasing the Giants this year. Like the Dodgers, the Rams were expected to contend but the Cards are performing beyond expectations and are having a charmed season. I'm hoping for a similar result in the end.by Leoram - RamsFootballFans.com

McVay certainly has the better resume but after seeing Staley's story overcoming cancer on the NFL Network, I have a deeper appreciation for who his is and how he operates. McVay was smart to hire him because he's the defensive equivalent to McVay. Time will tell which team is better but they are both excellent.by Leoram - RamsFootballFans.com
I believe they are very consistent. The pound the hell out of bad pitching and are helpless against good pitching. For once, Roberts hasn't been the problem as he's done a very good job managing the pitching changes this year. Our hitters are streaky and the bats collectively fall asleep too damned often. Urias gives us a chance but I'd be shocked if we score more than 3 runs.by Leoram - Bucky's Pub
To me, the most impressive part is that they've done it against mostly very good front 7's. Havenstein and Allen are the big surprises to some but in spite of all the criticism on here, I've said I expected a Pro Bowl level play from Big Rob. He's actually been just below that level so far this year but I am pleased w his performance. With that said, Humphrey is proving to be a better pick than Tby Leoram - RamsFootballFans.com
My take from Warner's breakdown is that they are still getting on the same page on offense as sometimes the receivers aren't responding the way Stafford expects of them. Also, there are times Stafford's aggression can be awesome and yet risky. Kurt wants him to pivot to easier throws when they present themselves. I'm surprised both Aikman and Warner didn't mention that Jefferson stopped his routeby Leoram - RamsFootballFans.com
