Well at 12 Mil per that equates to 48 versus 40 Mil with California taxes thrown on top of that. Now if the Jets are the the one signing him the tax advantage is mostly negated but still 8Mil is a lot of money even to a sports star.by David Deacon - RamsFootballFans.com
There are a lot of good reasons to resign Safford and the Rams want to resign him. The question is how high will they go to resign him? Do resigning him prevent us from have enough money for a top flight edge? Or are the Rams wanting to fill the Edge, OG and DT with their remaining cap space? How good do they really feel about Noteboom? 4 years for 40Mil with 30m guaranteed is probably nby David Deacon - RamsFootballFans.com
So Deadpool I guess the net is that we have room to sign 2 free agents that are high caliber. We many have enough for Safford & Fowler or 2 players of similar caliber. Or perhaps a lesser priced OG, A cheap DT and a Good Edge. In all the discussions I have not seen any discussion of saving money for a Goff extension do you think that is possibility or do they just pick up his 5th year optiby David Deacon - RamsFootballFans.com
Weedle will be a big upgrade over Joyner at half the price. He gives us 2 years to develop a young safety This was a great pickup and a key component to the off season planby David Deacon - RamsFootballFans.com
I don't think that BPA is as fine tuned as we all think except maybe around the top of the draft. As we move into the draft I believe that the Rams have a group of players that have similar ratings. The size of the group may change depending on the where we are in the draft. Anyway I believe that the Rams decide who to pick or if a trade up or down is make sense based on the value they see wby David Deacon - RamsFootballFans.com
Guys your conversation is very enlightening thanks. Great comments on the mock draft too. Again top notch stuff.by David Deacon - RamsFootballFans.com
If you can get him for a 3rd rounder you have to consider it. At 4 Mil he is pretty average in cost for a backup QB. What I like about Rosen is that given 2 years with McVay there is a good chance we can turn around and trade him for a first rounder. The kid has a ton a talent and is a really smart QB but needs some work on that body of his.by David Deacon - RamsFootballFans.com
He played great last year and we are only counting on him for 2 more years. He should be a big upgrade.by David Deacon - RamsFootballFans.com
There are a bunch of safeties on the market so the price was right. Great player who wants to finish with a winner. Now we still have the resources to go after a proven edge rusher. Love the idea of style pointsby David Deacon - RamsFootballFans.com
They fill a big hole with at a bargain price. Good move.by David Deacon - RamsFootballFans.com
At first I would think no way a TE would drafted but what if Noah Fant fell to them and they were wild about him. I could see that happening though I do not think it is likely.by David Deacon - RamsFootballFans.com
That is a lot of projections. I don't see a Higbee trade unless it was something more valuable than a late round pick. Brockers trade seems plausible but would they really trade him and not resign Suh? I think Hankins at DT is the type of bargain FA the will would like to sign I do think they will try and upgrade the edge with FA $$ and Houston/Barr or resigning Fowler are allby David Deacon - RamsFootballFans.com
I agree they want to resign Safford but not sure he doesn’t get priced out of the market. Agree the will spend some FA dollars on the edge and would like Fowler back. Agree in Kiser There are a lot of safeties on the market so I would look for a bargain pickup. Agree that the draft will focus on 2 or first 3 picks on defense and maybe first 3 picks on defense. Good job 43by David Deacon - RamsFootballFans.com
I think there is a good chance that JMF starts also next year. He had more playing time than any of the rookies and we have a need at his position.by David Deacon - RamsFootballFans.com
QuoteRams43 No question, 93. Just confining the discussion to D starters alone, I see 4-6 new starters come opening day. Barron is already gone. Suh is almost certainly a goner. Ebu will be a backup now. Fowler is very iffy to return because he’ll likely get an inflated offer to go elsewhere. Brockers may be asked to take a contract reduction, or else... Rams seem serious about cap costby David Deacon - RamsFootballFans.com
I am just wondering if since the draft is so strong on defense will it depress the prices for defensive free agents. We are starting to see high priced defensive players around the league being released. I am wondering if there will be some bargains. For instance way pay a Fowler an outrageous amount of money for what has been mediocre performance when you can draft someone of equal or betterby David Deacon - RamsFootballFans.com
Quotealyoshamucci It's the best DL draft in years and you want to PAY for mediocre FA talent rather than draft it? I disagree financially AND talent wise. A starting safety could still be found in the third alongside an interior linemen... Does the depth in the draft at DL/Edge drive down the price Free Agents can demand on the open market for those position? Rams should only be lookiby David Deacon - RamsFootballFans.com
Grabbing an OL in the 1st 3 rounds seems very likely if the lose Safford. We need to see who we sign in free agency but OL, Edge, DT, S seem to be the areas of need. While OL in not strong at the top of the draft there seems to be some depth. If we fix the edge in free agency look for a trade down and S, OL & DT with our first 3 picks.by David Deacon - RamsFootballFans.com
I think that 12 Mil is the max they will go for Fowler and I think that is probably too much but it may not be enough to sign him.by David Deacon - RamsFootballFans.com
Now with the release of Sully and Barron it seems like the Rams will have room to make really good offers to retain 2 of the 4 starting free agents. I do not think they will be aggressive in resigning Joyner but will pursue Suh, Safford and Fowler with Fowler begin the top target. I think that Safford will get a big offer but maybe the Rams can go to 10 Mil for 4 years. Not sure that getsby David Deacon - RamsFootballFans.com
The guy that sticks out that might be available is Devin Bush who if paired with Cory Littleton would give us a great tandem at MLB. I guess that we would have to sign an edge guy in FA for that to be a possibility. I would be surprised to see Bush last until our pick but maybe being an inch or 2 short will help us.by David Deacon - RamsFootballFans.com
Seems like things are taking shape right now. They may not be ready to cut anyone else but it wouldn't shock me to see Brockers traded. I think they are going to make a really good offer to Fowler but we will see if that is enough. I expect to see at least a low level FA OG/C signed If we resign Fowler look for a Safety or DT in with our first pick.by David Deacon - RamsFootballFans.com
43 great job and as always positive. I even agree with most of it. I totally agree that Snead will do something creative but I would add unpredictable to the list. I agree Snead will look to trade down out of the 1st round. That is providing he has a good trading partner and can obtain good value and there is not somebody that drops to 31 that provides incredible value. I agree Fowby David Deacon - RamsFootballFans.com
I love how McVay is able to attract great young up and coming coaching talent. This is another difference between him and Fish.by David Deacon - RamsFootballFans.com
I like Finley from NCST but not sure he falls to the 5th. Did you see that Tyree Jackson what a beast. Love to have him as a developmental guy but it would seem you could figure out a package for him right off the start.by David Deacon - RamsFootballFans.com
I read a blurb somewhere that he did not interview well. Perhaps he falls to us as a result.by David Deacon - RamsFootballFans.com
Wow that was a lot of work and a bunch of good ideas. Thank you. Wonder if Brockers and or Barron can be dangled for a mid round pick. Draft is deep and would like to see more than a 2nd, 4th and 6th for our 1st rounder. No Brockers or Suh means DL is in deep you know what. Like Sheldon but not sure of the price. Price for Free Agents acquisition seems low and too friendly for Rby David Deacon - RamsFootballFans.com
Great write ups on such a short time frame. This does look like a pretty strong draft and not just on defense. WR has some really good prospects and a lot of speed. We may be good but there will be a decent amount of WR taken in the first 2 rounds. Much better group than I originally thought. TE seems to have multiple first rounders and depth that should last until middle rounds. Seby David Deacon - RamsFootballFans.com
Thanks Jemach So McVay anticipated the defense and he had no answer just like Chicago. This is how teams are going to try and defend us in the future. I hope McVay is working on making adjustments this off season.by David Deacon - RamsFootballFans.com
